Dynamic Behavior of Aluminum Plates Subjected to Sequential Fragment Impact and Blast Loading: An Experimental Study

چکیده
This paper presents a study on the dynamic behavior of thin aluminum plates subjected to consecutive fragment impact and blast loading. To this end, two separate experimental setups are used. In first setup, 2 mm thick EN-AW-1050A-H24 were ballistic fragment-simulating projectiles (FSPs). Experiments carried out for FSP calibers 7.62 12.7 considering both single triple impacts with variations in spacing locations. The out-of-plane displacement in-plane strain fields measured using digital image correlation (DIC) coupled pair high-speed cameras stereoscopic setup. second subsequent loading was applied perforated an explosive-driven shock tube (EDST). After perforated, field around holes depended caliber, orientation FSP, distance between When applied, cracks tended appear areas concentration holes. It found that relative significantly influences target’s response mode.

Numerical and Experimental Investigations on the Behavior of Steel-reinforced Concrete Columns Subjected to Eccentric Loading
Steel-reinforced concrete (SRC) columns, which are classified as composite columns, became the most widely used in recent years; because of their extensive advantages over the reinforced concrete and the steel columns. In this paper, the ductility index and its influential factors were explored to investigate the behavior of SRC columns. A straightforward approach was then proposed by establish...
متن کاملNumerical and Experimental Study on Ratcheting Behavior of Plates with Circular Cutouts under Cyclic Axial Loading
In this paper, accumulation of plastic deformation of AISI 1045 steel plates with circular cutouts under cyclic axial loading is studied. Loading was applied under force-control conditions. Experimental tests were performed using a Zwick/Roell servo hydraulic machine. Under force-control loading with nonzero mean force, plastic strain was accumulated in continuous cycles called ratcheting. Nume...
متن کاملExperimental and numerical investigation of carbon fibersandwich panels subjected to blast loading
The objective of this paper is to investigate the structural response of carbon fiber sandwich panels subjected to blast loading through an integrated experimental and numerical approach. A total of nine experiments, corresponding to three different blast intensity levels were conducted in the 28-inch square shock tube apparatus. Computational models were developed to capture the experimental d...
متن کاملAn Experimental and Theoretical Study of Freezing of Pure Aluminum
In this work, Boltzmann transform has been used to analyze the problem of freezing of pure Aluminum in semi-infinite domain. The uniqueness of solution (solidification front location) has been proved using the characteristics of the functions appeared in solution. The effect of density change on temperature distribution and errors resulting from ignoring this change have been investigated. The ...
متن کاملFinite Element Modeling of Laminated Composite Plates with Locally Delaminated Interface Subjected to Impact Loading
This paper investigates the effects of localized interface progressive delamination on the behavior of two-layer laminated composite plates when subjected to low velocity impact loading for various fiber orientations. By means of finite element approach, the laminae stiffnesses are constructed independently from their interface, where a well-defined virtually zero-thickness interface element is...
